Professor Zhang Zhongwei holds a PhD in Materials science from Tsinghua University, professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, doctoral supervisor, and Chief scientist of National Key Research and Development Program. He has won the first prize of National Defense Science and Technology Progress and the first prize of China Corrosion Society, and is currently the executive director of Advanced Composite Technology and Equipment Innovation Alliance.

Professor Zhang Zhongwei has been engaged in the research of advanced structures and composite materials in special environments for a long time, mainly involving lightweight structures, load-bearing/heat protection integration, high temperature thermal protection, low cost and other directions, and has successfully developed C/C honeycomb structures, large thermal structural materials and components, ultra-high temperature low/non-ablative materials, and many research results have been applied in aerospace models.

Professor Zhang Zhongwei expressed his gratitude for being appointed as "chief scientist" by the company, pointing out that the industrialization of aerospace materials is the future development trend, because military-civilian integration, the introduction of competition by the state, military industry barriers, post-business era and other factors to promote low-cost (including automation), high performance and green is the development direction, innovation and change are the driving force for sustainable development.
